Walther bolsters shooting team with new additions, Bobby McGee, Luigi Li, and Luke Cao.
June 2019 was another great month for competitive shooters using Walther pistols. There were 20 1st place finishes at various IDPA and USPSA matches across the United States. Overall in June these wins paid out nearly $17,000. Obviously, it pays to shoot Walther handguns.
Team Walther has taken the shooting sports by storm, winning at the highest levels of USPSA, IDPA, and Multigun competitions around the United States. Walther continues to improve their already world class shooting team by adding Bobby McGee, Luigi Li, and Luke Cao.
“It’s my honor to join Team Walther. Born in China, I moved to the U.S. in 2012 to learn Physics as a graduate student. In 2017, Walther launched the contingency program and it changed my life, I got serious about training. Through research, I strived to understand the art of shooting and train efficiently. Shooting is a way to express yourself, you must cooperate with your body and mind, and combine the natural instinct and control to a shot. After 3 years, I am now a master in USPSA and IDPA.” said Luke Cao.
Luigi Li is a Master USPSA Carry Optics shooter and currently ranks in the top 10 of USPSA and IDPA. Luigi has won multiple area championships in USPSA handgun, multigun and steel challenge. Luigi brings strong firearms experience to Team Walther.
Bobby McGee is a U.S. Army Veteran known as one of the most well-rounded multi-disciplined competitive shooters. McGee is a USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) 3-division Grand Master and an IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) 5-division Master. He holds many championships including an IDPA National Championship. Bobby Is a certified NRA Pistol Instructor.
Bobby is regarded as one of the finest trainers and has trained with civilians, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and the military. He has received numerous accolades and honors for his trainings, including the Gold Schützenschnur badge from the German Army Marksmanship Unit, the highest decoration awarded.
As a member of Team Safariland and an Instructor for the Safariland Training Group he is not only an asset on the range, but is also a talented member of the Safariland Duty Gear Research and Development group. The specialized knowledge from both military and competition coupled with his broad operational experience give him a wide range of practical knowledge. This expertise aids in the technical design and development of various products for Safariland.
